Raffaele Sparano’s primary area of practice is in commercial litigation which encompasses numerous areas of law, including employment, debtor/creditor, bankruptcy, contractual and commercial breaches, shareholder and partner disputes, intellectual property, tort and negligence, construction liens, franchise, estates and residential and commercial tenancies.
Since being called to the Bar in 2003 in Ontario (and in Alberta in 2006), Raffaele gained approximately 20 years of experience at boutique commercial litigation law firms. During this time, Raffaele worked on numerous matters and developed a thriving practice in all aspects of commercial litigation, requiring preparation of various documents for all levels of Court (including the Supreme Court of Canada) and other board/tribunals.
Raffaele has also appeared before all levels of Court, including the Small Claims Court, Superior Court of Justice, Bankruptcy and Commercial Court, Estates Court, Divisional Court and Court of Appeal, as well other boards/tribunals, including private tribunals, the Landlord & Tenant Board, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, among other courts.
In addition, Raffaele assists in mentoring and training Summer / Articling Students and new and senior Associates, as well as providing Pro Bono advice and consultations to various referrals and clients.
Raffaele is conversationally fluent in Italian and has basic understanding of Spanish.
Raffaele has a love of outdoor activities, such as fishing and hiking and is an avid reader, particularly of classic and fantasy literature
