Raffaele Sparano’s primary area of practice is in commercial litigation which encompasses numerous areas of law, including employment, debtor/creditor, bankruptcy, contractual and commercial breaches, shareholder and partner disputes, intellectual property, tort and negligence, construction liens, franchise, estates and residential and commercial tenancies.
Prior to joining FIJ Law LLP in 2019, Raffaele gained over sixteen years of experience at a boutique commercial litigation law firm. In this role, Raffaele worked on numerous matters and developed a thriving practice in all aspects of commercial litigation, requiring preparation of various documents for all levels of Court (including the Supreme Court of Canada) and other board/tribunals. Raffaele has also appeared before all levels of Court and other boards/tribunals, including private tribunals, the Landlord & Tenant Board, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, various Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice, the Bankruptcy and Commercial Court, Estates Court, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal.
In addition, Raffaele assisted in mentoring and training Summer and Articling Students and new Associates, as well as provided Pro Bono advice and consultations to LRS (Lawyers Referral Services) and other clients.
Raffaele is fluent in Italian and has basic understanding of Spanish. He is also involved in and hosted various social events for a variety of charities.
